What is a Likert question?

A Likert question presents a statement and asks the respondent to choose a point on a scale, such as from Strongly disagree to Strongly agree.

When to use it

Use Likert questions to gather feedback on a course or exam, measure candidate confidence, or run short surveys alongside an assessment.

How Synap handles it

Likert questions are not marked, so responses do not affect candidate scores. They let you collect structured data in the same place as your assessments.

Authoring tips

Use the same scale throughout a survey, ask about one idea per statement, and avoid leading wording.

Likert is one of 29 question types in Synap's exam authoring software, alongside reusable question banks, bulk import and flexible marking.
