QTI (Question & Test Interoperability)

A standard for representing questions and tests so they can be moved between different assessment systems.

What is QTI?

QTI — Question and Test Interoperability — is a standard (also from 1EdTech) for representing questions and tests in a common format, so that items and assessments can be moved between different authoring and delivery systems without being rebuilt by hand.

For organisations with large item banks, interoperability matters: it protects content investment and avoids lock-in. Synap supports importing items in bulk — for example via CSV and its API — so existing banks can be brought onto the platform. See APIs and integrations.
