SCORM

A long-standing standard for packaging e-learning content so it runs and reports consistently across platforms.

What is SCORM?

SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) is a long-established standard for packaging e-learning content. A SCORM package is a self-contained bundle of learning material that any SCORM-compliant platform can play — and that reports back consistent data such as completion and score.

Its value is portability: content authored once can be reused across different systems without rebuilding it. Synap can include SCORM content as part of an assignment, so packaged e-learning sits alongside quizzes, submissions and other tasks. See assignments and coursework.
