What are custom attributes?
Custom attributes (or custom fields) let you store your own information against users or exam attempts, beyond the fields a platform provides out of the box — a candidate number, a cohort code, an external reference, or a link to an external report.
They matter because every organisation's data model is a little different. Custom attributes let Synap fit your world rather than forcing you into a fixed shape, and they flow through the API so your other systems can read and use them too. They're especially useful for grouping, filtering and integrating.
