What is cohort analysis?
Cohort analysis steps back from the individual to look at a whole group of learners — a class, a year group, an intake — together. It reveals patterns you can't see one learner at a time: which topics a cohort struggles with, how one intake compares to another, or how performance shifts over time.
For assessment teams, cohort analysis informs decisions about teaching, curriculum and the exam itself. Combined with question statistics and tag-level breakdowns by subject and skill, it turns raw results into insight. It builds on the same data as individual learner analytics.
