What is a True or False question?
A True or False question presents a single statement and asks the candidate to decide whether it is correct. It is the simplest selected-response format and takes candidates very little time to answer.
When to use it
Use True or False questions for fast recall checks, policy and compliance rules, and statements that learners often get wrong. Because each item takes seconds to answer, you can cover a lot of content in a short section.
How Synap marks it
True or False questions are auto marked, so results are available as soon as the candidate submits. They can be tagged, stored in question banks and mixed with any other question type in the same exam.
Authoring tips
Keep each statement to one idea, avoid double negatives and avoid absolutes such as "always" and "never" unless they are the point being tested. For higher-stakes exams, use several True or False items together, or a choice matrix, to reduce the effect of guessing.
True or False is one of 29 question types in Synap's exam authoring software, alongside reusable question banks, bulk import and flexible marking.
