# Quiz details

Quiz details identify the item in the Library and record who is responsible for maintaining it.

| Field                 | Purpose                                                                  |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Title**             | The required name used to identify the quiz.                             |
| **Short description** | A concise summary for compact listings and selection screens.            |
| **Description**       | Rich-text information about the quiz, its scope or intended use.         |
| **Owner**             | The user responsible for the item.                                       |
| **Collaborators**     | Additional users who can work on the quiz, subject to their permissions. |

The short description is useful where the interface has limited space; the full description can give staff and, where surfaced, students more context. Neither replaces the dedicated **Instructions** page, which is part of the taking experience.

The page also provides **Clone quiz**, which creates a separate copy. Use cloning when a new assessment should start from an existing structure but later changes must not affect the source quiz.

Use the title to distinguish versions or purposes. Put learner-facing instructions in **Instructions**, not in internal naming conventions.

### Edit or clone?

Edit the existing quiz when it is the same reusable resource and every future use should receive the improvement. Clone it when you need a separate answer key, audience, language, syllabus version or release cycle. After cloning, change the title, owner and access immediately so staff can distinguish the two items.

Before changing an established quiz, check where it is used. An Exam version protects controlled delivery history, but a shared practice or Collection experience may expose source changes more directly.
