# Study settings

Study settings configure how students generate Self Practice quizzes and choose question tags.

### Practice by tag

Select which supported facets students can use to filter questions when generating Self Practice. Only facets enabled here are offered in that flow.

This depends on consistent question tagging. Enabling a facet with sparse or inconsistent tags can produce confusing choices or very small practice sets.

### Tag-selection controls

| Setting                      | Behaviour                                                                 |
| ---------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Display mode                 | Shows tag selection as a dropdown or toggle interface.                    |
| Allow multiple tag selection | Lets a learner choose more than one tag at once.                          |
| Exclude untagged questions   | Prevents questions without tags from entering the generated practice set. |

Test the combinations used by learners. With multiple selection, the resulting question pool depends on how the selected tags are evaluated by the practice flow. Excluding untagged questions can substantially reduce the pool.
