# Access

The Access page controls which staff groups can administer this Assignment. Learner participation is controlled by the User group selected in Details.

Available access policies appear on the page. Adding a policy can make the Assignment available to a defined administrative group without giving that group wider control across the portal. The user must still have the underlying Permissions required for the action they want to perform.

| Access layer                 | Purpose                                          |
| ---------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| Assignment User group        | Determines which learners receive the work       |
| Reviewers group              | Determines who can take part in manual review    |
| Assignment access policies   | Determines which staff can reach this Assignment |
| Global and group Permissions | Determines what those staff are allowed to do    |
